A Day on the Fabrication Floor
Inside our welding lab, your day is defined by sparks, blueprints, and precision. Safely geared in professional welding hoods, our students master multiple vital commercial welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding across a wide variety of metals and structural materials. Once you master the core welds, you move into full-scale fabrication. You will read industrial blueprints, calculate metal properties, problem-solve design challenges, and execute major build projects from scratch, concluding with the operation of commercial powder-coating systems. Our students even fabricated the iconic public "Kokomo Indiana" iron sculpture located in the community!
Where This Path Leads
You will graduate with elite, high-demand technical skills that allow you to step straight onto high-wage job sites. Tri-county and local industrial employers regularly contact KACC welding instructors directly to hire our students immediately upon graduation. KACC welding alumni have successfully launched original fabrication businesses, while others travel the world working on offshore oil platforms, in commercial fabrication shops, and within the aerospace industry.
