Elevate and Support Your Community

This pathway is for the natural helpers, the creatives, and the individuals who want a career centered on improving the daily lives of people. From counseling and community outreach to professional culinary hospitality and cosmetology, this track teaches you how to turn human care into a thriving career.

A Day in the Center

The environment changes completely depending on your focus area. Human and Social Services students dive deep into professional ethics, mental health dynamics, and real-case analysis to understand how trauma and culture impact behavior. Step across the hall into our Cosmetology salon, and you are immersed in a high-energy, commercial salon setting running from 11:45 AM to 4:45 PM daily. Here, you work with real clients, mastering hair cutting, advanced coloring, chemical relaxing, facials, and manicures. In our Culinary Arts kitchen, you will work under the heat of professional lines, mastering gourmet preparation, knife skills, and high-level plating to prepare for major state competitions.

Where This Path Leads

You will graduate with real-world experience and professional credentials. Human Services students complete direct agency job-shadowing, preparing them for degrees in social work or counseling. Cosmetology students earn the 1,500 hours required to sit for their official Indiana State Cosmetology License, letting them step straight into local salons or manage their own business. Culinary students can earn their ProStart ServSafe certification, a distinction that frequently leads to immediate leadership and management promotions by area employers.
