STEM Design & Engineering

Engineer the Future

Every physical product, building, and machine begins as a concept design. This pathway is for the analytical thinkers and creators who want to use advanced mathematics, software programming, and architectural design to turn ideas into precise, structural realities.

A Day at the Design Bench

Our engineering lab is a hub of prototyping and advanced technology. You will utilize AutoCAD software to draft highly detailed blueprint drawings from scratch. Architectural design students focus on drafting homes, calculating dimensions, and mastering structural building codes. Mechanical design students sketch complex objects, creating detailed multi-view technical drawings. Once your blueprints are complete, you bring them to life in our prototyping lab, calculating forces, writing code, and operating commercial 3D printers and high-precision laser engraving systems.

Where This Path Leads

You will graduate with a massive academic and creative advantage. Due to the professional portfolios built during this two-year track, multiple KACC architectural design students have earned direct admit status as incoming freshmen into the prestigious Ball State School of Architecture. Whether you are pursuing a mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering degree, you leave KACC with patented potential.

Courses

I have earned multiple patents, and I have designed the fuel system for almost all Buell motorcycles. Every Johnson-Evinrude outboard engine has my patented vapor separator mounted on it. I accomplished so much thanks to the instructors and education I received at the KACC.
